Prognosis
This refers to the outlook for the patient following the proposed treatment programme. Thus, the doctor may say that a particular cancer has a good prognosis if he anticipates that the therapy will cure it. He will say a disease has a poor prognosis if the chance of cure is low, and death the likely final outcome.
