Carcinoma
A cancer arising form cells lining an organ, also called epithelial cells (the whole being called the epithelium). Thus, breast cancer arises from the milk duct epithelium , lung cancer from the epithelium of the bronchial tree, gastric cancer from stomach epithelium etc. Carcinomas are further subcategorised into squamous carcinomas (those arising from squamous epithelium such as the bronchial tree), adenocarcinomas arising from glandular epithelium e.g. breast and stomach cancers etc.
